Expo 2020

Expo 2020 is a world event that has about 192 pavilions from all over the world to be discovered. Their main motto is to connect minds and create a brighter future through mobility, sustainability, and opportunity. Every country has its own pavilion. This allows the visitors to experience their culture and be informed about what makes them unique. Expo 2020 Dubai is scheduled to take place between 1st October 2021- 31st March 2022.

Expo 2020 has attracted many tourists from around the world to come and discover the various pavilions. Expo Dubai is the first Expo that is being held in MEASA (Middle East, Africa, South Asia) region. It is a venue that brings people from different parts of the world to invent, connect, learn and share ideas. Expo 2020 aims to increase awareness about the issues that people face worldwide.

There are three main themes of Expo 2020- Sustainability, Mobility, Opportunity:

Sustainability- ‘Terra’ has been designed by Grimshaw architects in the Sustainability District. Terra motivates visitors to go through deep woods, depths of ocean and creative remodels of the natural habitats of the world. The pavilion wants to motivate visitors to make small and big steps towards a sustainable planet and try to reverse the climate change that is taking place.

Mobility- ‘Alif’ is a pavilion that is committed to space, options of traveling in the future, and how digitalization helps visitors to discover new places. The pavilion has a mobility track that demonstrates technologies of modern mobility.

Opportunity- ‘Mission Possible’ keeps focusing on promoting connections and connecting the visitors to innovators who have contributed to making a difference in the lives of people from all around the world. Visitors also witness empowerment for youth which promotes and brings forward young creators.

 If the visitors are interested in art, there are many live shows which take place on a daily basis. These live events include sporting events, musical events, national day celebrations, and

theatres. For tech fans, Expo 2020 will be a great place to explore. This is because of the events displaying futuristic technology, robotics, augmented reality, and autonomous vehicles. Expo is also for kids as it will contain two parks. Also, one can taste food from around the world because of the special event called “Eat at Expo”.

The one-day ticket costs AED 95 and is valid for one day. A season pass provides access for the entire period of 6 months of Expo 2020 and is priced at AED 495. Multi-day ticket costs AED 195 and offers entry for 30 days. Children below the age of 18, visitors who are determined, and people aged 60 or over will be admitted free of charge. The premium pass which is for business people costs AED 1750.
